European Commission's Progress Reports and Recommendations to be Published
Ljubljana, 8 October - The European Commission's annual report on EU candidates' progress is set to be published on Wednesday, 9 October, together with recomendations as to which candidates should conclude negotiations by the end of 2002 and thus become members in 2004. It is expected that ten candidate countries, including Slovenia, will receive such recommendations, while the final confirmation is to be issued by the 15 member states' leaders at the Brussels summit scheduled for 24 and 25 October.
