Wine Zones a Major Open Issue in Accession Talks, Says Agriculture Minister
Ljubljana, 8 October - Slovenian EU negotiators have achieved important progress in talks on sugar, milk and suckler cow quotas in the past weeks, while one of the major open issues in the agriculture accession talks remain wine zones in Slovenia, Agriculture Minister Franci But told the press on Tuesday. He also said that Slovenia would allocate SIT 65bn (EUR 284m) in 2004 to make sure that Slovenian farmers have an equal status to European farmers and to improve the country's position.
