Constitutional Court Rejects Moves for Assessment of Bank Privatisation Decrees
Ljubljana, 9 October - The Constitutional Court rejected two almost identical requests for an assessment of the 2001 and 2002/2003 budget acts and government decrees on the sale of two Slovenian banks, namely Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) and Nova Kreditna banka Maribor (NKBM). The requests, filed in recent months by the opposition National Party (SNS) and the non-parliamentary New Party (Nova), were found to lack any legal foundations.
