VIENNA - Slovenian President Milan Kucan is to take part in a conference on the EU between globalisation and re-nationalisation as the honorary speaker. On the sidelines of the event, Kucan is to meet Austrian President Thomas Klestil, Parliament Speaker Heinz Fischer, former Austrian chancellor Franz Vranitzky and head of the Social Democrats (SPOe) Alfred Gusenbauer.

ANKARA - Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to pay an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of his Turkey counterpart Sukru Sina Gurel. He is also expected to meet with Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit.

LJUBLJANA - The election campaign ahead of the 10 November presidential and local elections is to kick off.
