Speaker Pahor Calls for Better Suicide Prevention
Ljubljana, 14 October - Slovenia exhibits a suicide rate that is among the highest in the world. Data from the Slovenian Health Protection Institute shows that Slovenia has on average 600 suicides per year, while hundreds more could be "hidden" in other statistical categories. On Monday, a conference on the suicide rate in Slovenia was held in parliament, upon which Speaker of Parliament Borut Pahor said that the society and state are obliged to work for better suicide prevention.
