BRUSSELS - Slovenian Economics Minister Tea Petrin is to attend a two-day conference dealing with regional policy and mountainous areas. She is to present Slovenia's view on encouraging the development of mountainous areas at this European Commission-sponsored event, to which Slovenia was invited as the only EU candidate.
THE HAGUE - Upon concluding a visit to Portugal, Slovenian Agriculture Minister Franci But is scheduled to pay a working visit to the Netherlands, where he is expected to meet with his counterpart Cornelis Pieter Veerman.
LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR/NOVA GORICA - A first festival of Slovenian NGOs is to kick off, featuring a number of panels and concerts until 22 October. Europe Minister Janez Potocnik and EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere will be the key-note speakers at a special reception.
LJUBLJANA - At its weekly session, the cabinet is expected to scrutinise a report on co-operation with NGOs during the country's integration into the EU.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission for constitutional change is expected to take some substantive decisions on the proposals to change the Slovenian Constitution.
LJUBLJANA - A panel is to take a look at how basic documents about the safeguarding of ethnic minorities are implemented in Slovenia and its neighbours.
LJUBLJANA - As part of Slovenia's Government Public Relations and Media Office's NATO campaign, two NATO officials are to speak about the Alliance and its planned expansion.
LJUBLJANA - A working meeting is to be held by Chief of Staff of Slovenian Armed Forces, brigadier Ladislav Lipic and head of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) Jozko Cuk.
