Stock Market in Stir after Changed Lek Offer

Ljubljana, 21 October - The stock market seems to be thrilled with Saturday's raise of Novartis's offer for Slovenian drug maker Lek. Just minutes after trading started Monday, the price of Lek stock jumped up by the legally allowed ten percent, whereupon trading was suspended. However, it resumed at 10:40 AM when the 10-percent restriction was lifted. Lek has gained over 12 percent today, and currently stands at SIT 101,715 or 444.6 euros. Novartis's last offer is SIT 105,000 (EUR 459).
