Carinthian Slovenian Backs Claims Despite Threats from Haider

Maribor, 24 October - "We know that Haider often announces things in a thunderous way and then rarely carries them out," Rudi Vouk, a Carinthian Slovenian, told Thursday's issue of the daily Vecer. The statement comes after Carinthian Governor Joerg Haider on Tuesday said he would press charges against Vouk for announcing to internationalise the problems encountered by the Slovenian minority living in the southwestern Austrian province.
