Vic Refugee Centre Finally Closed
Ljubljana, 25 October - The refugee centre at the Vic district in Ljubljana was finally closed on Friday. Of the 235 persons living there, 196 moved to private apartments in Ljubljana, three decided to go to the Postojna refugee centre, while 36 returned to their homeland. The closure marks the end of months of disputes between the government and NGOs over what to do with the refugees, and makes way for the construction of a new asylum-seekers centre on the premises.
