Brussels Summit Reaches Agreement on How to Finance Enlargement
Brussels, 25 October - EU leaders have managed to agree on how to finance the planned EU enlargement, thus enabling the Union to wrap up accession talks with ten candidate countries, including Slovenia, at the Union's next summit scheduled for December in Copenhagen. "We have made a giant leap on the path towards enlargement," said Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. New members would then join the 15-nation bloc in 2004.
