Stock Market Indices Pushed to New Highs after Novartis Raises Lek Bid

Ljubljana, 26 October - The Slovenian benchmark SBI 20 index saw record values at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange last week after the Swiss multinational Novartis raised its bid for the takeover of the Slovenian pharmaceutical company Lek, an offer which pleased Lek's major shareholders, who announced to sell. The SBI 20 thus closed the week at 3,461.97 points, 177.92 points (5.42 percent) higher over the previous week.
