Bled, 26 October - The winners of the last Chess Olympiad, Russia, defeated Costarica even without the help of number one in the world, Gari Kasparov. In the first round of the 35th Chess Olympiad at Slovenia's Bled on Saturday, Russia won against Costarica 3.5:0.5. The organisers of the tournament, however, today faced technical difficulties, resulting in failure to provide the results of the first day competition and live coverage of the event on the Internet.
