Slovenian Climbers Still Unable to Return from the Himalayas
Kathmandu, 28 October - There is no end of trouble in sight for the the Slovenian climbing expedition that got into trouble with Maoist rebels in Nepal. After the rebels stopped them on the ascent and demanded US$ 400 per person for safe passage, the climbers are afraid to walk into the valley. They were to be choppered out, yet the Nepalese authorities have grounded all choppers due to a renewed escalation of fighting between the rebels and the army, POP TV reported on Monday.
