Deadline for Candidates at State Council Elections Runs out Tonight
Ljubljana, 29 October - After Slovene voters are through with the first round of presidential elections on 10 November, it will only be a fortnight before a new State Council, the 40-member upper chamber of the Slovene parliament, is to be elected for a five-year term. The deadline for submitting candidacies at the National Electoral Commission by representatives of social, economic and professional organisations runs at midnight on Tuesday, while the representatives of local interest organisation already had to file their candidacies by Monday.
