Veto on Trade Act Fails in National Council
Ljubljana, 30 October - Despite two rounds of voting, the upper chamber of the Slovenian parliament, the National Council, on Wednesday failed to confirm a veto on the act on trade. The core provision of the disputed act is that it gives store owners and employees the chance to decide themselves whether or not they want the shops to be open, or work, on Sundays and holidays.
