Reformation Day Celebrated for 10th Year in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 31 October - A brief period of some 50 years when Reformation ideas were strongly present on the territory of today's Slovenia had a profound impact on Slovenian people. Credited with publishing the first books in the Slovenian language in 1550, Slovenian Protestants are considered to be the fathers of Slovenian literature. This holiday has been celebrated as a bank holiday in the predominantly Roman Catholic Slovenia since 1992.
