Ljubljana, 8 November - Elections represent the St. Matthew Passion for the Slovenian Catholic Church. Although it strives to give the impression that it does not interfere into the politics, by (quasi) respecting the "superfluous" act of the Constitution on the separation of the state and religious communities, it is not too good at it. The fear of letting the faithful congregation stray to the forbidden ground is too great, and the temptation to prevent that at least with indirect hints too strong, the Ljubljana-based daily observes on Friday.
