Review of Events Involving Slovenia between 2 and 8 November

Ljubljana, 9 November - Together with the conclusion of the presidential campaign, last week was marked by final stages of NATO and EU enlargement preparations. While final details before the NATO summit are being discussed, Slovenian officials dismissed allegations of the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza that the country might find itself in trouble concerning its invitation to NATO. As Slovenia began the final stage of EU accession negotiations, President Kucan was visited by the Hague Tribunal officials to discuss final days of the former Yugoslavia.
