Kucan Touches on NATO, EU, His Office and Successor for Daily Vecer

Maribor, 23 November - President Milan Kucan expected Slovenia to receive a NATO membership invitation in Prague, as the country was mature for it as early as at the Madrid round of expansion. Being a member of either NATO or the EU however means nothing in itself, Kucan told the daily Vecer, explaining that the country will have to play an active part in these two organisations, which will help shape Europe's future.
