Compromise Deal Important for Conclusion of EU Negotiations, Says Potocnik

Ljubljana, 25 November - The Danish EU Presidency on Monday officially presented to the EU member states compromise package deals, which were prepared in co-operation with the European Commission as a basis for the conclusion of the EU accession negotiations with the ten candidates hoping to join the EU in 2004. The deal - to be offered to Slovenia as part of Tuesday's round of EU accession negotiations - will be an important step forward towards reaching the final solution on financial issues acceptable for both sides, Slovenia's Europe Minister Janez Potocnik expects.
