LJUBLJANA - Elections of representatives of local interests in the upper chamber of the Slovenian parliament, the National Council, are to be held. Candidates for 22 posts covering local interests in the 40-member council will be voted by electors of 22 electoral units which are made up of several municipalities.

LJUBLJANA - The Supreme Court will hold a news conference to present the activities of the judiciary ahead of Slovenia's accession to the EU.

LJUBLJANA - The economic and social council is to discuss the budget memorandum for 2003 and 2004.
