Constitutional Court Says Romany Councillors Must Be Elected
Ljubljana, 28 November - The Constitutional Court has decided that six municipalities which did not amend their statutes to ensure a post for a Romany councillor must do so no later than 45 days after the new local councils convene. Moreover, those municipalities that did not organise elections for Romany councillors must stage balloting within 30 days after the amended statutes are published in the Official Gazette, the court said in a ruling published on Thursday.
