Ljubljana, 1 December - Presidential hopeful Janez Drnovsek would step down as prime minister immediately if he wins Sunday's elections, foreseeably as soon as Monday, he told STA. That way all the procedures necessary to appoint a new government could be carried out by 23 December, he explained. Drnovsek's rival Barbara Brezigar is also hoping to win, but not for the presidential position, as she said, but to convince the people of Slovenia that it is time to set divisions aside and that everyone has the right to be involved in politics.
