STA Coverage on Wednesday, 4 December

Ljubljana, 3 December - The STA English service will cover the following events on Wednesday, 4 December:

LJUBLJANA - The Parliament is to hold an extraordinary session to discuss the resignation of the newly-elected President Janez Drnovsek from the post of prime minister, as well as whether to call a referendum on draft bill on restructuring and privatisation of Slovenian Railways. The session is starting at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the ruling Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to decide on the candidate for the post of the prime minister; session scheduled for 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - British Foreign Minister Jack Straw and Czech FM Cyril Svodoba are coming on official visits to Slovenia. Besides meeting with Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel separately, all three ministers are also to hold a joint meeting, followed by a joint statement at 2 PM. Slovenia's Rupel and his British counterpart are to hold a joint press conference at 4:15 PM.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - An informal meeting of culture ministers from Slavic countries is to conclude. The ministers will speak to the press at 11 AM.
