Over 200 Transitional Periods Agreed on in Accession Negotiations
Ljubljana, 9 December - The EU accession process is based on the premise that newcomers will be able fully implement EU legislation the day they become members. However, both sides acceded to certain transitional periods, which allow for certain policies to be enacted after transitional periods expire. Both at the demand of the EU or the candidates, some 200 transitional periods have been agreed on, and Slovenia has its fare share of them.
