EU Membership Will Bring Fresh Impetus, Chief Negotiator Convinced
Ljubljana, 16 December - EU membership will bring fresh impetus to Slovenia, contribute to a more open society and to overcoming the notion of self-sufficiency, said outgoing Europe Minister Janez Potocnik at a public presentation of results from accession negotiations on Monday. After 56 months of negotiations, headed by Potocnik since their begining in 1998, all conditions of Slovenia's accession to the EU were laid down at the EU summit in Copenhagen past Friday.
