Ljubljana, 21 December - In the week before the holidays, the Slovenian parliament passed several pieces of legislation and adopted the 2003 and 2004 budgets, despite the fact that the parliamentary bodies had to conduct the hearings of 16 minister candidates before the MPs could make a final vote on the new Anton Rop government on Thursday - eight days since Rop was confirmed as PM designate. On Friday, former PM Janez Drnovsek handed over his office to Rop and left his post as LDS party leader in wait of Sunday's inauguration as state president.
