STA Coverage on Monday, 23 December

Ljubljana, 22 December - The STA English service will cover the following events on Monday, 23 december:

LJUBLJANA - Former President Milan Kucan is to hand over presidential duties to the new President Janez Drnovsek at 11 AM. A farewell ceremony for Kucan is scheduled for 11:35 AM, when the former president will be bid farewell with military honours.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian parliament is to hold a special session at 7 PM to mark Independence Day, which is celebrated on 26 December. The central celebration of this holiday is to take place at 8 PM, when Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor is to address those gathered in the Cankarjev dom congress and arts centre.

LJUBLJANA - Constitution Day, marking 11 years since the Slovenian parliament adopted the constitution of the independent Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - The Centre for Public Opinion research at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences is to present results of the monthly Politbarometer survey on current issues at midday.

MURSKA SOBOTA - Clothing maker Mura is to hold a press conference at 10 AM to present the restructuring of the company and business plans for 2003.
