Agreement on LDS Presidential Candidate to Be Reached in January, Says Golobic

Ljubljana, 28 December - The leadership of the government senior coalition partner Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to reach a decision on a single candidate for the new party president after 11 years of leadership by former PM and newly elected state President Janez Drnovsek by mid-January, a long-time senior official of the party and president of the LDS Council Gregor Golobic expects. The options of fusing the posts of prime minister and party president as well as the separation of the two are both still "in the game" Golobic has told STA in an interview.
