Amendments to Customs Act in Force as of 2003

Ljubljana, 29 December - Amendments to the act on customs will become effective as of 2003. Once in force, the exemption of payment of import duties will be fully aligned with the EU body of laws. Still, the amendments do not mean much for Slovenia's importers, as import duties on industrial and most agricultural products from the EU - which accounts for 70 percent of Slovenia's trade - were eliminated in 2001.
