Mosque Is Rejected by Slovenians, but Majority of Ljubljana Would Have It, Says Poll

Ljubljana, 1 February - A mosque in Ljubljana is supported by 43.3% of all polled by daily Delo and 48.6% of only those who live in Ljubljana. But on the opposite side are 49% of respondents and 46.8% of respondents from Ljubljana. As much as 67.4% said they were religious, 28.5% declared themselves atheists, while the rest refused to answer. The prevailing religion is Catholicism (89.8%), followed by Orthodox Christians (2.2%), Muslims (2%) and Protestants (1.6%).
