Slovenia Hails Security Council Debate and Joins EU Demarche
Ljubljana, 5 February - Wednesday's debate at the UN Security Council was important for boosting UN authority, said the Slovenian Foreign Ministry. The debate showed that the Council is ready to take on the responsibility for solving the Iraqi crisis and pointed to the complexity of the issue. The U.S. presented worrisome and well-founded facts that show the danger of Saddam Hussein's regime, said the ministry, adding that Slovenia supports the efforts of the international community to disarm Iraq within the UN Security Council and joins the EU appeal to Iraq to give up all weapons of mass destruction.
