LJUBLJANA - Slovenia celebrates Culture Day on the anniversary of the death of the country's greatest poet France Preseren, who died in 1848.

MUNICH - Foreign Affairs Minister Dimitrij Rupel and Defence Minister Anton Grizold are to take part in the 39th international conference on security policy, to discuss the Iraqi crisis, the global fight against terrorism, the future role of NATO, the role of the EU's common foreign and security policy in preventing conflicts, and future development of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.

ZELEZNIKI - Slovenia is to host the second day of the 14th World Championships on Natural Luge, which are to continue until Sunday.

MARIBOR - The Maribor ski slopes are to host world's top snowboarders in World Cup competitions on 8 and 9 February. Women's and men's parallel giant slalom races are scheduled for Saturday.
