Another Year of Active Preparations for NATO, Defence Ministry Says

Ljubljana, 15 February - Slovenia is facing another year of busy preparations before it joins NATO in May 2004, which will happen if the citizens approve that move at a referendum on 23 March. However, the Ministry of Defence points out that Slovenia would still need about a decade until it becomes completely integrated in the Alliance.
