Ljubljana, 16 February - Schedule of events in the week from 17 to 23 February:

MONDAY, 17 February
        BUDAPEST - Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek is to begin a two-day red-carpet visit to Hungary in what is his first official visit abroad after he became the country's new president. After meetings with his host, President Ferenc Madl, and Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy, a statement to the press is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's role in the international community is to be discussed by a panel of six Slovenian political analysts late in the afternoon.
        STRASBOURG - Culture Minister Andreja Rihter is to attend a two-day informal meeting of European culture ministers there, and sign the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-Production.
        LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Dusan Mramor is to speak to the press about his ministry's priorities.
        NOVA GORICA - Speaker of the Parliament Borut Pahor and EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere are to visit the border city of Nova Gorica as part of a Europe Day there.
        CATEZ OB SAVI - The Customs Office of Brezice is to be set up and presented by director of the Customs Administration (CURS) Franc Kosir.
        LJUBLJANA - Chair of the parliamentary commission for European affairs Alojz Peterle, who is the candidate countries' representative in the presidency of the EU Convention, is to outline the latest session of the presidency.
        LJUBLJANA - The Mladinsko Theatre (SMG) is to give a press conference before travelling to Belgrade to play three of its productions there from 20 and 22 February.

TUESDAY, 18 February
        BRUSSELS - Prime Minister Anton Rop and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel are to attend a meeting at which the EU is to inform the ten EU candidates of the EU's stance on the Iraqi crisis.
        LJUBLJANA - Croatian Minister of European Integration Neven Mimica is to present Croatia's bid to join the EU.
        LJUBLJANA - The council of the coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) is to discuss the forthcoming EU and NATO referendums.
        CELJE - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik is take part in a panel on how the Slovenian economy would function within the EU.
        LENDAVA - A Europe Day is to be attended by EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere and a member of the Slovenian negotiating team with the EU Fedor Cerne.

WEDNESDAY, 19 February
        BRUSSELS - The European Commission is to voice its opinion on the Accession Treaty, to be signed between the EU and ten candidates, including Slovenia, in April.
        BRUSSELS - The European Parliament is to officially launch a procedure to give its seal of approval to the admission of ten EU candidates, including Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary European affairs commission is to discuss the work of the EU Convention as well as Slovenia's EU referendum.
        LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet with head of the West European Union (WEU) Jan Dirk Blaauw.
        LJUBLJANA - The Faculty of Theology is to host a panel on whether Slovenia should join NATO or not.
        BRNIK - National flag carrier Adrie Airways is to present its business results to the press.
        NOVO MESTO - Clothes manufacturer Labod is to present its business results, restructuring plans and reasons for laying off 165 workers.
        LJUBLJANA - EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere and Minister of Regional Development Zdenka Kovac are to attend a conference on structural funds.
        POKLJUKA - The finals of the Archery Biathlon World Cup is to begin, through Sunday, 23 February.

THURSDAY, 20 February
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign affairs committee is to discuss, in an emergency session, the foreign minister's action regarding the Vilnius declaration.
        BRUSSELS - A third round of talks on the enlargement of the European Economic Area (EEA) is to take place; State Secretary of the Economics Ministry Renata Vitez is to attend on behalf of Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The Government Office for Equal Opportunities, the Information Centre of the Council of Europe, and the Coalition for Balanced Representation of Women and Men in Public Life are to give a press conference to speak about the 2002 local elections.
        LJUBLJANA - A weekly cabinet session.
        TRBOVLJE - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik and EU Ambassador to Slovenia Erwan Fouere are to visit Trbovlje.

FRIDAY, 21 February
        NOVO MESTO - Pharmaceutical company Krka is to outline its business results from 2002 and its major investments this year.
