Export of Brown Bear Trophies to the EU Practically Banned Already

Brussels, 27 February - The export of brown bear trophies from Slovenia to the EU is practically already banned because EU experts supervising the trade in endangered animal species at the end of January gave a negative opinion on the effect these exports have on the existence of brown bear in Slovenia. This is enough for the member state to put a temporary ban on the imports while the European Commission contacts the Slovenian government over the issue, STA was told at the European Commission Directorate for the Environment.
