More Parliamentary Control Over Work of Intelligence and Security Agencies

Ljubljana, 2 March - An umbrella act to regulate the parliament's supervision of the work of Slovenia's intelligence and security agencies was adopted by MPs last week. The act is especially important as the agencies are often in position where they could breach individual's human rights and basic freedoms. A wide consensus was reached on the act, the first of its kind in Slovenia, and it was adopted unanimously.
