Ljubljana, 2 March - Schedule of events in the week from 3 to 9 March:

MONDAY, 3 March

LJUBLJANA - Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller is to come for a working visit. He is to meet with his Slovenian counterpart Dimitrij Rupel, President Janez Drnovsek and PM Anton Rop.

MOSCOW - Parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Borut Pahor is to embark on a three-day visit to Russian counterparts.

BRUSSELS - Minister of Regional Development Zdenka Kovac is to attend European Commission's two-day conference on the development of the structural policy.

GLASGOW/LEEDS - Business delegation led by vice president of the Chamber of Commerce is to begin a four-day visit to Scotland and Yorkshire.

LJUBLJANA - A delegation of Serbian ministry of the environment led by Minister Andjelka Mihajlo is to come for a two-day visit.

KRANJ - Europe day organised by the delegation of the European Commission to Slovenia and the government PR and media office. At the public debate head of the Commission's delegation Erwan Fouere and Slovenian Europe Minister Janez Potocnik are to discuss Slovenia's accession to the EU with the public.

LJUBLJANA - Civil Protection is to celebrate its day with a ceremony at Ljubljana's cultural centre Cankarjev dom.

LJUBLJANA - International week of fight against cancer will kick off. This year's theme are the rights and responsibilities of the cancer patients.

TUESDAY, 4 March

IDRIJA - Europe day with public debate on the consequences of the EU accession for Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - International fair "Dom" ("Home") is to open in Ljubljana.

LJUBLJANA - Jurcic Awards are to be conferred to outstanding journalists and editors.


LJUBLJANA - Portugal's Foreign Minister Antonio Martins da Cruz is to pay a working visit to Slovenia upon invitation of Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel. Martins da Cruz is to hold a lecture on Portugal's experience as NATO member.

LJUBLJANA - Peace Institute and SKUC club are to stage a debate on mosques in Slovenia. Participants will include Danish activist Bashy Quraishy, Norwegian religion historian Christian Moe, journalist Uros Slak in publicist Ahmed Pasic.

BRUSSELS - The EU Convention is to convene for an additional session to discuss the proposed articles of the future EU constitutional treaty.

MOSCOW - The parliamentary delegation is to conclude its official visit to Russia.

LUXEMBOURG - State Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iztok Mirosic is to visit Luxembourg as part of regular political consultations between the countries.


LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its regular weekly session.

LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR - EU Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verheugen is to come for an official visit to Slovenia. He is to meet with Slovenia's leaders and take part at Europe day in Maribor.

MARIBOR - Europe day with a debate on Slovenia's accession to the EU, participated by Commissioner Guenter Verheugen, EU Ambassador Erwan Fouere and Slovenia's Europe Minister Janez Potocnik.

LJUBLJANA - Head of the German parliamentary foreign affairs committee Volker Rueher is to visit Slovenia. Rueher is to meet with FM Dimitrij Rupel, Speaker of the Parliament Borut Pahor and delegation of Slovenia's parliamentary foreign affairs committee. Together with Hungary's and Belgium's ambassadors to NATO, Rueher will take part in a discussion on Slovenia and NATO.

LJUBLJANA - Competent state secretaries of CEFTA countries are to meet for the first time since Slovenia took over the chair of the association at the beginning of the year.

FRIDAY, 7 March

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to announce the constitutional changes which enable Slovenia's accession to international organisations and defence alliances.

LJUBLJANA - President of the European Commission Romano Prodi is to visit Slovenia.

IG - A ceremony to mark the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the International Trust Fund for demining and mine victims assistance is to take place.


SKOFJA LOKA - A conference of opposition New Slovenia (NSi) to discuss Slovenia's accession to the EU and NATO.

LJUBLJANA - International day of women.
