Slovenia to Be More Influential as Part of EU, Enlargement Chief Says
Brussels, 4 March - Slovenia will not forfeit its sovereignty by joining the European Union. Quite the opposite, by being a member of a strong Union in which small countries can play a greater role than represented by their size, the country should increase its influence in Europe and on the world scene, EU enlargement chief Guenter Verheugen said Tuesday.
