National Council Backs EU and NATO Membership
Ljubljana, 12 March - The Slovenian upper chamber of parliament has given its backing to the country's membership of the EU and NATO. Reviewing the issue ahead of the 23 March referendums, the 40-member National Council, which has very limited powers, came to a decision that it would back membership of both organisations, despite some doubts about NATO.
