STA Coverage on Tuesday, 18 March

Ljubljana, 17 March - The STA English service will cover the following events on Tuesday, 18 March:

LJUBLJANA - Iceland's President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson is to arrive for a four-day visit to Slovenia in the evening at the invitation of President Janez Drnovsek. During his first official visit to Ljubljana, Grimsson is also to meet with Prime Minister Anton Rop, Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel. Bilateral relations are to top the agenda.

LJUBLJANA - Hungarian Defence Minister Ferenc Juhasz is to pay a visit to Slovenia upon the invitation of his counterpart Anton Grizold. Juhasz is also to meet with President Janez Drnovsek and Foreign Ministry State Secretary Iztok Mirosic as well as with members of the parliamentary defence and foreign affairs committees. The officials are scheduled to give a statement to the press at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - A delegation of Macedonian parliament, headed by Speaker Nikola Popovski, is to visit Slovenia at the invitation of the Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor. The delegation is also to meet Prime Minister Anton Rop.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission investing a brutal attack against journalist Miro Petek will meet behind closed door to talk to Interior Minister Rado Bohinc. The minister himself proposed the hearing, which is to be held at 1 PM.

BRUSSELS - The two-day session of the Convention on the Future of Europe is to wrap up. Representing Slovenia's government at the meeting is Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, while Alojz Peterle, Jelko Kacin, Feri Horvat and Mihael Brejc are representing the parliament.

GENEVA - A Slovenian delegation led by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Samuel Zbogar is to attend the annual conference of the UN Human Rights Commission, which kicked off in Geneva on Monday.

VELENJE -Household appliances producer Gorenje is to present annual results at the news conference scheduled for 1:30 PM.

KRANJ - The 33rd Days of Slovenian Drama are to wrap up. The eleven-day event is to end with the first staging of the Hallway" by Matjaz Zupancic, which was given the 2003 Grum Award for the best Slovenian play.
