Group of Public Figures Urge Voters to Say "No" to NATO Membership
Ljubljana, 21 March - Convinced that NATO is a relic of the past, a large group of public Slovenian figures opposes Slovenia's integration into it. In a public statement, the group, who said would like to see Slovenia become a recognisable and truly independent welfare state, urged citizens "to check "against" on the ballot inviting to NATO". The group believes that Slovenia will be simply unable to cope with all direct or indirect costs of the simultaneous accession to the EU and NATO.
