EU/NATO Vote: EU Backing over 89%, NATO Support Steadies at 66%

Ljubljana, 23 March - The backing for Slovenia's NATO accession steadied at 66 percent, while the country's joining the EU was backed by over 89 percent of the votes cast at Sunday's referendums on EU and NATO, show early unofficial results after more than 99 percent of the ballots have been counted. The turnout was 60.29 percent, with 970,422 eligible voters appearing at the polls.
