Amendments to Police Act to Tighten Control over Law Enforcers

Ljubljana, 3 April - The government on Thursday confirmed amendments to the police act, aimed at overhauling the relationship between the Interior Ministry and the police force. The set of amendments applies to 66 articles of the 1998 police act and is expected to tighten the ministry's control over the police, said Interior Minister Rado Bohinc. The amendments are thus ready for first reading in parliament.
