Church Meddles with Politics Rather than Following Its Principles, Sociologist Says
Ljubljana, 5 April - Although always following the Pope's stances, the Slovenian Roman-Catholic Church "entangles itself too much or too fast in political or sometimes even unprincipled political judgements about what is good and what is not supposed to be good, considering certain political options and orientations rather than the basic principles represented by the Church," Marko Kersevan, professor of sociology of religion at the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts, said about the Church's position on the Iraq war in an interview for Saturday's supplement of the daily Delo.
