Netherlands and Slovenia Have Similar View on EU's Future, Says Scheffer
Ljubljana, 9 April - The Slovenian and Dutch foreign ministers, Dimitrij Rupel and Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, discussed the two countries' common future within the EU and NATO in addition to the situation on the international scene, particularly the war in Iraq and the situation in SE Europe in the aftermath of the assassination of the Serbian PM Zoran Djindjic. On behalf of his country, Scheffer welcomed the outcome of Slovenia's referendum in which EU and NATO membership was given the green light. He pointed to NATO's key role for stability and security.
