Chronology Of Slovenian Accession to the EU
Ljubljana, 13 April - With the scheduled signing of the EU Accession Treaty on Wednesday, Slovenia will be a step closer to full-fledged EU membership. Before officially joining the Union, its parliament and the parliaments of all 15 current member states will have to ratify the Treaty. If everything goes according to plan, Slovenia - along with nine other acceding countries - will become a member on 1 May 2004. With this its decade-long path to EU membership will be wrapped up.
