Slovenia to Sign EU Accession Treaty Today
Athens, 16 April - Against the backdrop of the historical Acropolis, three Slovenian top officials will sign the EU Accession Treaty in Athens on Wednesday, thus confirming one of Slovenia's key strategic goals set soon after Slovenia won independence in 1991. Alongside nine other Eastern and Central European countries, Slovenia will actually join the EU on equal footing on 1 May 2004, after the ratification in all current and future members is completed.
