Review of Events in Slovenia from May 7 to 14
Ljubljana, 14 May - Last week was marked by Slovenia's activities in the field of foreign affairs. Foreign minister Lojze Peterle met the US Secretary of State in Washington on Wednesday, and visited Prague on Thursday and Friday. Delegations of the Slovenian and Croation parliamentary foreign relations committees met in Ljubljana after a six-month break in talks. They established that a number of issues remain unresolved between the two countries. Slovenian President Milan Kučan accepted an invitation from Croation President Franjo Tudjman to visit Zagreb at the beginning of June. State secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ignac Golob attended a session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. He reiterated Slovenia's stance that the restoration of Yugoslavia is impossible and drew attention to the damage incurred by Slovenia in connection with the succession to the former Yugoslavia.
