Retired Diplomat Discusses Euro-Atlantic Integration

Ljubljana, 22 April - The question whether the Euro-Atlantic integration is possible at all appeared soon after the end of the Cold War. As the U.S. presence on the "old continent" is deemed very important, the Europeans were very afraid that the U.S. will go its own separate way. Europe was therefore the one which tried to keep the U.S. abreast and there was a fear that the U.S. would choose Asian countries as its key partners instead of Europe, retired diplomat Marko Kosin told the weekly Mladina.
